Museo Rosenbach grew and developed side by side with rock music in the 2nd half of the 60s. The Kinks,The Animals, Spencer Davis group , Vanilla Fudge and Steppenwolf, but above all Jimi Hendrix were in its repertoire. Classics by R&B were also played at concerts: Sam and Dave, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett e James Brown. This was the basic background. Around the 70s Pink Floyd galaxy started to be known and nothing was like it was before any longer. "Ummagumma" certainly marked an opening to new worlds. Museo Rosenbach, still under a different name, discovered the big label "Vertigo", Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant and Genesis. The choice of the name refers to 2 important Italian bands: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso and Premiata Forneria Marconi. If there was a bank and a bakery there could also be a museum dedicated to a German publisher, Otto Rosenbach, chosen because of the poetical Italian meaning of its name: brook of roses.
